Getting StartedWhat next?Well now you need to get organised, there is a few things you need to think about. 1. EasyKart experienceYou may find booking a test at Rye House really beneficial and see for yourself what performance an easykart has. You'll find some helpful words on the day from easykart staff that actually work on the karts and they can give you genuine advice of what to expect when you own your own easykart, click here for a test. drive. 2. New or used Easykart ?The Easykart design doesn't change so used residule values are good. - normally approx £1500. You can find karts on our approved section here. The only reason for go for used in our opinion is your budget and cashflow. You can replace major parts on your easy as it gets older but this obvioulsy takes money and dependant on the time frame you can soon realize the same cost of a new easy. The important thing is to get involved so feel free to call the ACR office if you need more info on any used easykart. We want you racing in easy whether on a used or new easy ! The lower the racing number of the kart the older it is. For example karts from 10 to 60 are coming up to 2 years old. We are now registering new easykarts is the 130's! 3. To place your order for new !EasyKarts are delivered every 6 weeks and are sold in consignments. To be sure to reserve your kart you can pay a £350 deposit and reserve your place in a consignment of your choice. 4. Get LicensedAll drivers racing in Easykart UK must have at least a national B kart licence from the MSA. If you are a begginner you need to purchase a "Start Karting Pack" from the MSA click here. The cost is approx £50 and this fee is payable to the MSA. The pack includes advice and the application for your ARKs test - this is the driving test if you like for racing karts ! some medical questions need to be answered as well as general information about yourself. After all this paperwork is completed when you are ready you can apply for your ARK's test with an approved karting school. At this point its wise to get a few practice days in so you are confident and up to a reasonable speed on your EasyKart. Once you are happy you need to find a karting school/ examiner. EasyKart UK work with Protrain who are based at Whilton Mill and Motorsport World who are based at Rye House. Preferential rates are given by these schools for Easykart owners. 5. Youv'e passed! We hope ! Now you need to apply for your Easykart membership click here. And you need to get your first race entry form in click here. Many people think its better to get more practice in before racing - our view is that if you have passed your arks test then you are ready. You will learn quicker by getting involved with the racing. You will learn the tracks in the first year and make new friends in the paddock. Everyone in easykart is helpful whether you are at the back in the middle or at the front plus remember ACR are there for any technical help on the day. We hope to see you in Easykart very soon! |
